Install & open.
Open the TestFlight (iOS) or internal-test (Android) invite we sent, install SavePlate, and create an account on the device. The session stays local.

Connect a manager.
Point it at the Mealie or Tandoor you already run — or skip and keep the on-device library.

Share your first reel.
From Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube, tap Share → SavePlate. The phone fetches it and a real recipe lands.

Run the fetch on your own hardware — and earn a 10–30% discount on your annual renewal.

The app works on its own. But if you keep a home server running, point the app at our agent and imports run on your box. One container, one env var. How much you save depends on how much cloud cost your agent offsets — see the pricing page for the exact bands.

FAQ

Is it really free to try?
Yes — once you're in the private beta, 5 imports every month, no card. The quota resets on the 1st; if you need more, a paid tier starts small and pauses the moment you do.
Do I need a server?
No. The app keeps a local library out of the box. A Mealie or Tandoor instance is optional, and so is the home agent — though running the agent can earn you a 10–30% discount on your annual renewal.
Which video sources work?
Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts today, via the native share sheet. The fetch uses your own logged-in session on the device.
Where do my recipes live?
On your phone first, then pushed to whichever manager you connect. If you stop paying, the on-device library stays.
How do I join the beta?
Email [email protected] and tell us whether you want iOS or Android. We hand out invites in small batches; you'll get a TestFlight (iOS) or Play Store internal-test (Android) link when your slot opens. Core flow is stable and in daily use — expect the occasional rough edge, and the changelog is public.
